Horton, Inc. is currently looking for an Business Analyst II-D&T. The right candidate will be responsible for studying business functions, gathering information and helping determine output enhancements for various applications. They are involved in planning and designing of business requirements, workflows and application UI. The Business Analyst II-D&T works collaboratively within the IT department and business units to define, design, and interpret requirements into function for development to execute. They are also tasked with identifying problems, determining solution options, and recommends changes as needed.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, uncover areas for improvement and assist in developing solutionsParticipate in communications between various IT and business partnersParticipate in deployments, post deployment remediation efforts and support escalation as neededParticipate in multiple projects and applicationsAssess risk and impact of builds and deploymentsClearly outline, document, and communicate problems, enhancements and business scenarios that will be used in advancing new and current custom software applicationsInvestigate, analyze, and document complex as-is business processes for use in design of new application functionsDefine, design and document optimized solutions to complex business and application issuesManage and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle; re-defining as necessaryIdentify appropriate parameters, functions, and data to test and validate; parameters may include general function, validity of results, accuracy, reliability, and compliance with industry standardsAnticipate potential malfunctions and design specific tests to make them occur on a system levelDesign, write and execute test cases and test scripts to thoroughly test company software products on multiple projects of varying size and application systems to ensure all objectives are metPerform various degrees of testing (unit, baseline, full system, ad hoc)Conduct testing to ensure products perform according to user requirements and within established guidelinesIdentify, log, and recreate error codes, enhancements, user stories, bugs, and defectsDocument all software discrepancies and work with team leadership, subject matter expert, and/or development on the resolution of those discrepanciesConducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the companyAssist in clarifying project scope and visionLog and document bugs, enhancement, and product issuesDraft quality assurance policies, procedures, and knowledge articlesQualificationsEducation and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)3+ years’ experience in Information Technology in a related fieldKnowledge of application design software a plus (Figma, Balsamiq, etc.).Exposure to Agile, Scrum and other iterative and incremental development methodologiesKnowledge of software and database testing including designing and manipulating test data, validating stored jobs, and error replicationAbility to think and act as an end-userMust be able to interpret and implement quality assurance standards and provide accurate and comprehensive feedback to colleaguesExperience/exposure using programming languages, QA methodologies, and test management software, UI/UX applicationsAbility to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of IT systemsAbility to work well within a teamStrong computer skills and experience with custom applicationsExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to serve as a liaison with developers, project managers, and customer supportDemonstrate strong attention to detail and have analytical and problem-solving abilitiesProficiency with MS Office and emailPreferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field preferredExperience with SQL Queries and databases a plusExperience with various software development lifecycles, software UI/UX design, and testing is a plus Come join a winning team with a Fortune 500 company!
