Laser TechnicianReports to: Business Unit LeaderFLSA Status: Non-ExemptSchedule: Monday through Thursday (4:00a to 2:30p); extended hours may be required to support business needsPrimary duties and responsibilities:Basic laser programing, setup, and nesting for BLM, Mitsubishi, Bystronic, Amada, and Mazak lasers. Applicable for 2D and 5-Axis lasersResponsible for supporting laser productionIdentify laser downtime concerns and evaluate possible solutionsMaintain laser consumable stockRecommend and implement efficiency improvements and scrap/rework reduction effortsEnsure proper preventative maintenance is being conducted on machinesAssist in training operators on machine maintenance and upkeepOther duties as assignedEducation, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge:Two or more years in a laser cutting/fabrication environmentAbility to setup laser equipmentHigh school degree or two-year technical degree or equivalent experienceMust be able to pass a visual acuity test with or without corrected lensesExcellent attitude, attendance, and communication are paramountStrong attention to detail and follow-throughMust be able to work as part of a team environmentPhysical environment/working conditions:The position is in the factory and could involve sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time throughout the day. Heavy lifting of up to 40 pounds may be required.
